- Verdal Orkesterforening har som formål å fremme gleden ved samspill og øke forståelsen for god klassisk orkestermusikk. Orkesteret skal framføre musikk ved offentlige konserter og andre arrangementer, gjerne i samarbeid med lokale krefter innen sang og musikk. Videre skal Verdal Orkesterforening yte økonomisk støtte i form av stipend til ungdom i Verdal kommune som spiller klassisk musikk på strengeinstrumentene: fiolin, bratsj, cello, kontrabass eller piano.
