- Ivareta barn og foresattes felles interesser i oppvekstspørsmål. Danne en formell arena for samhandling og dialog mellom foresatte, grunnskole, barnehage og Tønsberg kommunes administrasjon og politikere. Gi råd for å styrke foresattes muligheter til å medvirke på den enkelte skole og være et samlende og koordinerende organ for skolenes FAU. Være en formell høringsinstans og samarbeidspartner i kommunale spørsmål som angår barn og unge.
